Quick Start Guide
1. Installation
After installing CheckoutReview from the Shopify App Store, the app will automatically configure itself and be ready to use.
2. Add Your First Review
- Go to your app dashboard
- Click "Add New Review"
- Enter customer name, rating (1-5 stars), review title, and content
- Check "Mark as Verified Purchase" if applicable
- Click "Add Review"
3. Customize Display
- Navigate to "Customization" page
- Choose display style (Card or List)
- Select maximum reviews to show
- Enable/disable star ratings, review titles, and dates
- Toggle auto-slide and set interval
- Save your settings
4. Preview & Test
Use the preview on the Customization page to see how reviews will appear, then test your checkout to see them in action!
Common Issues & Solutions
Reviews not appearing at checkout
Solution:
- Ensure you've added at least one review in the dashboard
- Clear your browser cache and try again
- Test in an incognito/private browsing window
- Make sure the app is properly installed and active
- Contact support if the issue persists
Can't save customization settings
Solution:
- Check your internet connection
- Try refreshing the page and saving again
- If using multiple browser tabs, close extras and try in a single tab
- Contact support if the problem continues
Reviews displaying incorrectly on mobile
Solution:
- Reviews are designed to be fully responsive
- Try different display styles to see which works best
- Clear mobile browser cache
- Contact support with screenshots if issues persist
How to delete or edit a review
Solution:
- Go to "Reviews" page in your dashboard
- Find the review you want to edit or delete
- Click the edit icon to modify or trash icon to delete
- Changes take effect immediately
Feature Guides
Managing Reviews
Access the "Reviews" page to see all your reviews, statistics (total reviews, verified reviews, average rating), and quick actions to customize display or add new reviews.
Verified Purchase Badge
When adding or editing a review, check the "Mark as Verified Purchase" box to display a green verified badge. This adds extra credibility and trust.
Auto-Slide Feature
Enable auto-slide in Customization settings to automatically rotate through reviews. Set the slide interval (in seconds) to control how long each review displays before transitioning to the next.
Display Styles
Choose between Card Style (reviews in bordered cards with shadows) or List Style (clean, minimal design). Preview both to see which matches your brand best.
Best Practices
- Use authentic reviews: Add real customer feedback to build genuine trust
- Mark verified purchases: Use the verified badge for confirmed customer reviews
- Keep reviews relevant: Focus on reviews that highlight product quality, service, and customer satisfaction
- Mix review lengths: Include both brief and detailed reviews for variety
- Update regularly: Add new reviews periodically to keep content fresh
- Test your checkout: Regularly verify that reviews display correctly
- Use auto-slide: Enable auto-rotation to showcase multiple reviews without manual navigation
